Lawyers and unrepresented parties shall avoid all impermissible ex parte (one sided) communications with the Judge. Communications with the judge about a case are
forbidden unless opposing counsel or unrepre-sented party is also a party
to the conversation or communication. The same holds true for conversations
with the judge's Judicial Assistant, law clerk or other members of his staff.
The only exception to this rule pertains to procedural matters such as scheduling.
